Merino wool only needs to be washed occasionally thanks to its natural, positive properties. Its scaly fiber structure is not only antibacterial but also has a self-cleaning effect.
For more stubborn stains, you can usually proceed as follows:
Wash Merino wool in the washing machine at 30°C.
Select the wool cycle or a similar gentle program. A low spin speed (around 600 rpm) is important.
We recommend using a wool detergent.
Do not use bleach or fabric softener.
Wash similar colors together.
Do not tumble dry Merino wool. Instead, let it air dry, away from direct sunlight.
Machine washing is preferred over hand washing, as handwashing can work the fibers too much. If you still wish to wash your Merino products by hand, be careful not to knead or wring them, as this can cause unwanted felting.
