If your GIESSWEIN shoes squeak while walking, it may seem unusual, but in most cases there is no need to worry. 😊 The noise is often caused by external factors and can usually be resolved with a few simple steps.
Why do shoes squeak?
Squeaking can have several causes and does not necessarily indicate a manufacturing defect.
Common reasons include:
- 💧 Moisture: Shoes that are wet or slightly damp may produce squeaking sounds while walking. Allow your shoes to air dry completely before wearing them again.
- 👣 Friction inside the shoe: The insole or your foot may create friction, resulting in a squeaking noise. Removing the insole and placing it back correctly can often solve the issue.
- 🛣️ The walking surface: Rubber soles may squeak on smooth floors such as tiles, laminate or polished stone. The sound is often not noticeable on asphalt, carpet or rougher surfaces.
- 👟 New shoes: New shoes sometimes squeak during the first few wears while the materials adapt to your feet. In many cases, the noise disappears after a short break-in period.
What can I do?
Please try the following:
- ✅ Allow the shoes to dry completely.
- ✅ Remove the insole and place it back carefully.
- ✅ Test the shoes on different surfaces.
- ✅ Wear the shoes for a few days to allow the materials to adjust naturally.
