When paying with PayPal, you may see a message stating that GIESSWEIN requires permission to access your PayPal account. We understand that this wording may cause concern.
How does the payment process work?
Our online shop is operated through Shopify. The payment process works as follows:
- Select PayPal as your payment method during checkout.
- You will be redirected to PayPal’s secure payment environment.
- Log in directly to your PayPal account.
- Review and confirm the payment.
- PayPal then sends the payment confirmation to our online shop.
Does GIESSWEIN have access to my PayPal account?
No. GIESSWEIN does not receive your PayPal login details and cannot freely access your account, balance or stored bank details.
The permission shown is only required for the technical processing of the payment between PayPal and our Shopify online shop. We only receive the information necessary to process and match your payment with your order.
Depending on your PayPal settings, GIESSWEIN may also be saved as a connected merchant. This can make future PayPal payments faster.
Can I remove this permission?
Yes. You can manage connected merchants directly in your PayPal account:
- Log in to PayPal.
- Open Settings.
- Select Payments.
- Open Automatic payments or Subscriptions and saved businesses.
- Select GIESSWEIN.
- Remove or deactivate the saved permission.
The exact wording may vary depending on your device and PayPal version.
What alternatives are available?
If you do not wish to grant this permission, you can select another payment method available during checkout. The available options depend on your delivery country. Payment by invoice may be available in some countries.
