If your credit card was blocked, replaced or cancelled after you placed your order, this is generally not a problem.
I have already received a refund confirmation from GIESSWEIN
As soon as you receive a refund confirmation from GIESSWEIN, the refund has already been initiated.
The refund is automatically returned to the same payment method that was used for the original order.
This means:
- A payment made with Visa will be refunded to the Visa card originally used.
- A payment made with Mastercard will be refunded to the Mastercard originally used.
- Once the refund has been initiated, it cannot be redirected to a new credit card or a different bank account.
We therefore do not need your new credit card number, IBAN or bank account details.
Please never send us your full credit card number, PIN, CVC/CVV security code or any other sensitive card information.
What happens if my old credit card has been blocked or replaced?
Even if the original card has since been blocked, replaced or has expired, the refund can usually still be allocated by your bank or credit card provider.
Further processing is handled by your card-issuing bank or credit card provider.
In many cases, the refund is automatically assigned to the corresponding card account or to your replacement card.
Can I change the credit card to which GIESSWEIN sends the refund?
No. A refund is always automatically returned to the credit card or payment method used for the original order.
We cannot redirect a refund to a different or newly issued credit card.
If the original card has since been blocked, replaced or has expired, please contact your bank or credit card provider. They can allocate the refund to your replacement card or the corresponding card account.
What should I do now?
Please contact the bank or credit card provider that issued your original Visa or Mastercard.
Please let them know:
- that you are expecting a refund from GIESSWEIN,
- that the credit card originally used has since been blocked or replaced,
- the refund amount,
- the date of the refund,
- if known, the last four digits of the original card.
Ask your bank to trace the refund linked to the original card transaction and allocate it to your current card account or replacement card.
The exact procedure may vary depending on the bank or credit card provider.
My bank cannot find the refund
After GIESSWEIN has processed the refund, it can take up to 10 business days for the credit to become visible with your bank.
If your bank is still unable to locate the refund after this period, please contact us again and provide your GIESSWEIN order number.
For refunds made via Visa or Mastercard, we can check whether an ARN (Acquirer Reference Number) is available.
You can then provide this reference number to your bank or credit card provider. It allows them to trace the refund within the card payment system.
